Lambani Community

Also known as the Banjaras, we are found all over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. About half of our community members speak Lambadi, one of the Rajasthani dialects of Hindustani, while others speak languages dominant in their respective areas of settlement. Our women members are known for their colourful and beautiful costumes and tattoos on their hands.
